Security and Religion: The Discursive Self-legitimation of the Chechen Authorities

Abstract This article analyses the official discourse of Chechen authorities and posits that it reflects government’s efforts as self-legitimation. investigation seeks to identify mechanisms exploited by regime boost self-legitimacy examining ‘News’ programme on state television channel ‘Grozny’, which, in authoritarian setting Chechnya, became mouthpiece a propagator discourse.
